Short Reveiw for the ADD crowd :: Fuk Yeah!!! Real review for the rest :: When was the last time you loaded up your ipod, slipped on the big headphones, and laid back on your bed to experience music? Fortunately, when I set out to listen to Teebs newest LP, Ardour, I had just that experience, and you know what –what a pay off it was. This album is pure highly oxygenated atmosphere. The kind ignited with grand washes of color and sparkles of tiny bells dazzling the stereo spectrum of your mind. Harps zing, digital water flows, and your audio cocktail is ready. Schedule a massage while you’re at it!
Do remember that this is a Brainfeeder release, so no mater how dreamy the beats get, you better believe there is a bass heavy bottom end to rumble the ensuing paradise that will unfold like a children’s pop up book. Packed with 18 (!) tracks, there is great detail here in the production of Ardour. As I’ve said before, you have two ears that can comprehend three dimensional space and Teebs uses that reality well. The choices made about his samples are astounding as they paint worlds potentially thick with incense burning, wild flowers blooming to life as you gaze upon them and jazz clubs positioned at the edge of deep space. Ardour –I adore you!
