This news story is a few weeks old, but maybe you even knew this a year ago -
Ninety-five per cent of music downloaded online is illegal, a report by the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI) has said.
Now I’m not a fan of words like “illegal” or “piracy” – paints a one sided picture stemming from a small group of decision makers and not the tone of a culture and it’s lifestyle. But the point to get from this BBC article is that record companies and independent music artists must adapt quickly to the new business of sharing experiences and put an end to the one dimensional view of music as a commodity - it’s not.
