Death & Birth

They go hand in hand – don’t they!

I find it fitting that fist post of IAAL is timed right with the bankruptcy of Britain’s Pinnacle Entertainment, who was responsible for distributing somewhere around 400 Independent music labels albums/cd’s. According to NME, The company is the latest casualty of the credit crunch/global economic downturn. Well, I’d say it also goes hand in hand with the fact that the consumer rules –and the culture of the music lover has forever changed the music industry for good… Downloads! Instantaneous digital on the go lifestyle. I like it –you love it.

Yes something has reached a pinnacle – the physical product!

About IAAL, the blog, and eventual maga-blog, you are reading right now. Well we’ll cover that better in the ever growing about-us section. Let’s just say for now: a small band of innovatives have set out across the wasteland of larger than thou news agencies and supposed niche music sites only to find that their music, their culture, only ever ended up as a special expose once in awhile and that through the democratization of media tools –they found that they could be their own news agency and report on what mattered to them most –all day –every day.

Our laser focus starts with what’s happening in the deep underground electronic music scene that spans from Vancouver BC, down through Seattle, Portland, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and all the way to Mexico City. Be that independent music production, independent clothing design, parties, independent thought, music festivals, art, video, photography –what we do as a culture will be represented here as a central hub.

Thanks for dropping by -Enjoy the Future!
